Privacy policy

What this site collects, why, and how long it is kept.

Who we are

Lipid Labs, a division of CanAlt Health Laboratories Inc., 16 Falconer Drive, Unit 14, Mississauga, Ontario L5N 3M1, Canada. We are the controller for the personal information described here. For any privacy question, write to info@lipidanalytical.com.

What we collect, and why

  • Order information — your name, email, phone, company, address and PO number, together with the details of the samples you send. We need this to quote the work, run the test, report the result and invoice you. The order form asks for your consent to that, and the record keeps the wording you agreed to and the time you agreed.
  • Enquiries — whatever you put in the contact form, so we can answer you, with the same consent record.
  • Page counts — when a page on this site is opened, we record that it was viewed: which page, the name of the website you came from, whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer, and your browser’s language. To estimate how many different people visit in a day, your internet address is turned into a code that changes every day; the address itself is not stored. No cookie is used, and the counts are not linked to your name or to anything you send us. They are kept in the laboratory’s own information system and tell us which pages are read.
  • Nothing else. There is no newsletter and no advertising measurement on this site, and the cookie banner asks for nothing because there is nothing to ask for: it says that only strictly necessary storage is used and offers one button to dismiss it. If an advertising or marketing tag is ever added, the choice comes back to the banner and to this notice together.

Your current cookie settings

What your browser holds about the banner: whether you have dismissed it, and when. It stays in your browser and is not sent to us.

Who else processes it

The information you submit is processed on infrastructure hosted by Microsoft Azure (Canada Central region). Microsoft is a sub-processor: it provides the servers, does not access the data for its own purposes and is bound by its data-processing agreement. No analytics provider, advertising network or mailing-list service receives any of the personal information collected on this site.

How long we keep it

Order and sample records are retained for the period our quality system and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation require. That period exceeds normal commercial retention because the laboratory must be able to reproduce and verify its work. Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as the client relationship is active, so a follow-up can refer to the original exchange.

Your rights

Under Canada’s PIPEDA, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and challenge our handling of it. If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR additionally gives you rights to erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Write to info@lipidanalytical.com and we will respond within thirty days.

Under Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), the person responsible for the protection of personal information at Lipid Labs, a division of CanAlt Health Laboratories Inc. is the laboratory director, reachable at info@lipidanalytical.com.

Cookies

The order builder keeps your draft, the cookie banner keeps the fact that you dismissed it, and the Text size control keeps the size you chose, in your own browser’s storage. None of these is sent to us, and the draft cannot be switched off without losing it. No analytics or advertising cookie is set: page views are counted without one, and no advertising tag is loaded. The cookie settings link in the footer shows the banner again.

Where your data goes

To the laboratory’s own intake service, which runs on Microsoft Azure in Canada, and from there to the laboratory’s information management system. No personal information collected on this site is sold, shared with advertisers or passed to any party other than the hosting provider named above.
