Lipid Labs Omega-3 Quality Testing Package
10 determinations and 2 calculated values on one certificate — oxidation, EPA & DHA content and environmental contaminants, tested to the GOED Voluntary Monograph V8.1. Each result is reported against the GOED limit where the monograph sets one; elsewhere the reference applied is named, or the result is reported for information.
Within 15 business days · quoted per sample — nothing is booked or charged until you agree the quote.

One row is not yet accredited and two are calculated, and we mark them rather than leaving it implied. Heavy and trace metals is run here and is not yet accredited — ISO/IEC 17025 assessment visit and submission on 17 November 2026; accreditation expected December 2026. TOTOX is calculated from accredited determinations on the same certificate, and the combined TEQ is calculated from the accredited dioxin, furan and dioxin-like PCB results.
Limits of quantitation are available on request and are not printed on the certificate — the same arrangement as measurement uncertainty and expanded uncertainty. Ask when you order and we will supply them for the determinations you need.
What is covered
Three monograph sections, one certificate
The GOED Voluntary Monograph has been the omega-3 industry’s standard of quality since 2002, maintained by the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s. It sets the limits an omega-3 oil is tested against for oxidation, environmental contaminants and EPA and DHA content — the three sections below. On how our testing demonstrates conformance: Adhering to GOED’s Monograph.

One package
Is this the right package for your project?
Oxidation, EPA & DHA content and environmental contaminants, tested to the GOED Voluntary Monograph and reported together. No separate reports to reconcile.
Right for you if
- You need oxidation, EPA & DHA and contaminant results on one certificate, each reported against the monograph’s limit where it sets one
- Your buyer, retailer or regulator asks for results against GOED Voluntary Monograph limits
- You want accredited results for oxidation, EPA & DHA and the trace-organic contaminants on one certificate — heavy metals is marked By request until its accreditation
- You are bringing a finished product to market and need its oxidation, EPA & DHA and contaminant results in one document

Compliance summary
The three monograph sections — oxidation, EPA & DHA content and environmental contaminants — each with its verdict: a pass mark where the monograph sets a limit, and a reported result for EPA & DHA identification. Readable without turning a page.
One page per determination
Method, measured value against specification, and the working: sample mass, replicates, mean and RSD. The fatty acid page carries all 19 identified acids in %(w/w) and mg/g.
Appendix A — scope
The table above, as issued: method reference, specification and accreditation status for every line, so the whole scope is on one document.
What each part of a certificate is for, and why units of expression are where two certificates come to disagree: understanding your certificate of analysis.
How it is tested
Accredited, calculated and outside-scope — told apart
In-house determinations are performed at Lipid Labs, a division of CanAlt Health Laboratories Inc., Mississauga, Ontario, under SCC ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory No. 838 (SCC file 151170).
The environmental contaminant determinations — dioxins, furans, PCBs, organochlorine pesticides, PAHs and PBDEs — are run to accredited ISO/IEC 17025 methods (US EPA reference methods) and reported on the same Lipid Labs certificate.
Heavy and trace metals is the one determination in this package outside our accredited scope today. It is run to ISO/IEC 17025 §7 expectations — CRM bracketing against NIST SRM 1946, internal standard recovery, replicate precision — and reported on a non-accredited basis until the scope extension completes — ISO/IEC 17025 assessment visit and submission on 17 November 2026; accreditation expected December 2026.
Before you ship
What we need from you
| Matrix | Marine and omega-3 oils — crude, refined or concentrated; triglyceride or ethyl ester form. Softgels accepted. |
|---|---|
| Minimum quantity | At least 25 g of oil, or 50 g of solids. The metals work by ICP-MS sets that floor. The contaminant analyses need material on top of it, so the final figure is confirmed against your matrix when we book the sample in. |
| Container | Amber glass, filled with minimal headspace, tightly capped. Softgels in their original blister or container. |
| Turnaround | Within 15 business days. Quoted for the package as a whole, contaminant work included — not the sum of the individual analyses. |
| Paperwork | The sample submission form in the box, printed from your order once the quote is agreed, with your reference already on it. |
Recognition
Recognised by GOED
The laboratory holds the Special Achievement Program (SAP) Award for the 2026-2027 term, which runs to 30 June 2027; by the laboratory’s own record it has been held twice, for 2024-2025 and 2026-2027.

Omega-3 & fish oil
Need less than the full package?
Four ways to test a fish oil or other omega-3 oil, smallest first. Each is on our menu as it stands; the marks show the status of the determinations each one contains.
Choose a smaller panel if
- You only need oxidation and EPA & DHA content — the Omega-3 Potency & Purity panel covers that in 10 business days
- You are checking a supplier’s CoA against your spec — the fatty acid profile (FAME), peroxide value and p-anisidine value cover it, and you can build that order yourself
- You only need freshness and rancidity — the Oxidation & Shelf Life panel turns around within 5 business days
