What it measures

Crude fat is run to LAL-METH-10 (Gravimetric) on foods, feed, tissue. It is a total fat determination, listed with the fatty acids on our menu, and is run to method but sits outside our current accreditation scope, which we mark rather than leaving implied.

Most clients order it alongside the other tests in its family, which is why the panels exist — they bundle the tests that genuinely answer one question together, rather than making you assemble them yourself.

How to prepare and ship

Amber glass with minimal headspace, sealed. Keep oxidation-sensitive samples cold and out of light. Send at least 10 g. Running several tests on one sample can raise the quantity we need. If a combination needs more than the figure shown, we tell you when we book the sample in rather than after it arrives. Full guidance is on the sample preparation page.
