What it measures

Total neutral lipids is run by GC-FID on oils, fats. It is a neutral lipid determination, listed with the phospholipids on our menu, and is run to method but sits outside our current accreditation scope, which we mark rather than leaving implied.

It comes with its associated fatty acid profile (FAP), which shows what form your fatty acids are in — for example, whether a high proportion of C22:6 n-3 (DHA) is carried as triglyceride (TG) or as phospholipid (PL).

Most clients order it alongside the other tests in its family, which is why the panels exist — they bundle the tests that genuinely answer one question together, rather than making you assemble them yourself.
